ABOUT US
From discovery to design, we interrogate and reprogram T cell states to enhance ovarian function, restore fertility, and outsmart ovarian tumors.
Mission Discover and engineer ovarian immunity; translate double-negative T cell biology into therapies that restore fertility and outsmart ovarian cancer.
Vision To establish double-negative T cells as a controllable axis for ovarian immune tolerance and tumor control, with defined markers, circuits, and levers for intervention. To build scalable platforms that connect basic immunology, engineered T cells, and reproductive outcomes; single-cell atlases, tissue-aware models, engineered T-cell toolkits, and validated fertility endpoints. To push the frontier of immune engineering in reproduction; profile, model, and reprogram T cells in situ; deliver first-in-class diagnostics and therapies for infertility and ovarian cancer. To train scientists who pair rigor, creativity, and integrity with care; embed mentoring plans, authorship clarity, and career development milestones in every project.
Mentoring We mentor for scientific independence and career clarity. Each trainee builds a short Individual Development Plan, sets quarterly goals, and receives actionable feedback. 1 to 1 cadence: weekly for new members, biweekly once projects are stable, monthly career check ins. Authorship and credit: transparent criteria, early discussion, written agreements before submission. Skills: experimental design, statistics, writing, figure craft, presenting, and grantsmanship. Data practices: planned analyses when possible, shared protocols, version controlled analysis. Well being: respectful schedules, planned time off, clear task ownership, conflict handled early.
Research We study how T cells shape immune tolerance and disease in the ovary, and how those programs can be engineered for therapy. • We interrogate how cDNTs and related T cells govern ovarian immunity, then engineer those circuits for therapy. We use in vivo models, high-parameter flow, functional readouts, single-cell and spatial profiling, organoids, and ovarian tumor models. • We map the rules of ovarian immune tolerance and convert them into therapies. We combine mechanistic T-cell biology, single-cell and spatial genomics, organoids, and in vivo efficacy studies. • We chart, model, and reprogram T-cell states to protect ovarian function and defeat ovarian cancer. Our work integrates in vivo experiments, flow and functional assays, single-cell and spatial profiling, organoids, and immune engineering. • We discovered ovary-enriched cDNTs and now profile and reprogram T-cell states to restore fertility and disarm ovarian tumors. Our work spans in vivo models, multicolor flow, functional assays, single-cell and spatial profiling, organoids, and engineered T-cell platforms.
Lab Culture and Values Rigor first: clear hypotheses, appropriate controls, planned analyses when feasible, transparent methods. Kindness with standards: direct feedback, generous credit, high expectations, supportive coaching. Ownership: every project has a driver, timelines are visible, decisions are documented. Learning culture: weekly data meetings, paper clubs linked to current experiments, peer code and figure reviews. Inclusion: diverse teams, equitable opportunities, respectful communication, zero tolerance for bias or harassment. Safety and ethics: animal welfare, data integrity, reproducibility, and compliance are non negotiable. Balance: planned working hours, protected writing time, vacations scheduled early, sustainable pace. Communication: short written updates before lab meetings, decisions summarized in writing, shared checklists. Career development: manuscript roadmap, funding plan, presentation practice, networking support. Let’s not forget community and fun: All work and no play, makes ….so we have socials, coffee walks, board game or data-art nights, potlucks, local events, and a once-per-semester outdoor day. Inclusive, low cost, no pressure to attend.
